What it measures
Refresh
Frames per second the browser is actually painting, which tracks the panel refresh when nothing else is in the way.
Pixels
Full-screen fields of color so a stuck or dead pixel has nowhere to hide.
Ghosting
A moving mark on a dark field. A trail behind it is the panel holding the last frame.
Banding
A smooth ramp. Steps in that ramp are the panel or the browser running out of shades.
Questions
Will fullscreen change my display settings?
No. It uses the browser fullscreen API for the color fields only. Escape leaves it and your resolution stays as it was.
The moving mark looks blurry.
That blur is the result. Sample-and-hold panels smear a moving edge. A sharper mark means less ghosting, not a sharper screenshot.
