Does this test upload my voice?

No. Level, noise, and clipping are measured in the tab. A recording, when the live test is running, stays in a local blob and is discarded when you leave or clear it.

Why would the meter stay silent?

The browser may have blocked the microphone, or the system input may be a different device than the one you expect. Check the site permission and the input selected in the operating system.

Which browsers can run it?

Current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop and mobile. Labels for device names appear after you allow microphone access. Safari on iOS only exposes the mic while the page is open and in the foreground.
